ADInstruments is proud to support the 2022Rethink EMG Challenge, organized by the De Luca Foundation. We are pleased to congratulate the Challenge Winners: Dr. Tea Lulic, Prof. Carl Payton, and Dr. Neale Tillin!
Dr. Lulic's winning proposal, "Objective assessment of shoulder function following LD flap reconstruction", focuses on identifying better tools to improve poor shoulder function after breast reconstruction post-mastectomy. Dr. Lulic is a Research Scientist in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the Università Degli studi di Brescia (Brescia, Italy).
Prof. Payton's winning proposal, "Transforming the World Para Swimming Classification System with sEMG", aims to investigate the lack of scientific rigor behind the classification of impairment that determines which of ten classes an athlete is assigned to. Prof. Payton is an ex-swim coach, and is currently with the Musculoskeletal Science & Sports Medicine Research Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Dr. Tillin's winning proposal, "Integrating EMG with GPS to assess neuromuscular fatigue in team sport activity", intends to assess real-time neuromuscular fatigue during team sport to inform tactics, predict injury, and direct training. Dr. Tillin is Deputy Head of the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Roehampton.
